A showcase of successful Irish productions restaged in partnership with Culture Ireland and Irish Theatre Institute
Designed by Aedín Cosgrove
Cast Raymond Keane and Bryan Burroughs.
With two contrasting characters living in separate sacks, Act Without Words II is one of Samuel Beckett’s most universal and versatile plays, and Beckett specialist Sarah Jane Scaife is bringing it to the streets – literally. Set in the stage-door laneway of one of Dublin’s most famous theatres, in the present day with all the problems of homelessness and drug addiction, this play resonates with a power that is both chilling and all too familiar.
Following its runaway success at the 2009 Absolute Fringe, Scaife’s expertise in movement, and intimate experience of the subject matter, makes Act Without Words II a stirring, provocative piece which is performed by Raymond Keane (Barabbas Theatre Company) and Bryan Burroughs (The Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards Best Supporting Actor 2009), two of Ireland’s most talented physical theatre artists.
Please note that this performance is staged outdoors – appropriate dress recommended.
