Promotional video for the PAN PAN production- Everyone is King Lear in his own Home

Pan Pan returns to Shakespeare for Dublin Theatre Festival 28 Sept - 7 Oct 2012 with EVERYONE IS KING LEAR IN HIS OWN HOME. Following on the enormous success of The Rehearsal: Playing The Dane in the Dublin Theatre Festival, 2010, EVERYONE IS KING LEAR IN HIS OWN HOME is a re-imagining of another great Shakespeare play. A theatrical encounter as compelling as Shakespeare's original, EVERYONE IS KING LEAR IN HIS OWN HOME is a parable – or, perhaps more properly, a cautionary tale – about how unreliable memory can be.

All aspects of the production - from founder and joint Artistic Director Gavin Quinn and co-founder and designer Aedín Cosgrove,  through to  the choices of music, and on to the costuming - are drawn from this real experience of a particular person's home, creating a world in which the mundane acts - like hoovering - have mythic implications.

EVERYONE IS KING LEAR IN HIS OWN HOME promises to be another unique, provocative and compelling theatrical event. This is King Lear as never seen before: through the lens of one of Ireland's most respected contemporary theatre companies.

SAMUEL BECKETT: “Do not imagine, because I am silent that I am not present.”
