Developing a piece of theatre can take a long time. Following a six-week development process last year, we want to develop a new show The Blue Boy by one of the most innovative and talented theatre companies working in Ireland today - Brokentalkers, to a full production.
This astonishing show looks at the experiences of those incarcerated as children in Catholic residential care institutions. Fusing multi-media, video extracts, original music and dance, and dealing with the experiences of men and women who were incarcerated as children in Catholic residential care institutions; this powerful piece received a phenomenal reaction, with huge excitement from those lucky enough to see it.
In order to bring this exceptional production to the next stage, we need your help!
The Festival is working with Fundit.ie which is a brand new crowdfunding website designed to support greater individual giving to the arts, culture and creative industries and sectors in Ireland. We have set a €3,000 target in order to help the development of The Blue Boy. The €3,000 will specifically go to a four week workshop in May and if this target is not met, the workshop will not go ahead.
